About CAAR
The Chevening Alumni Association of Rwanda – CAAR
The Chevening Alumni Association of Rwanda (CAAR) has 100+ members to date. They are leaders and innovators who continuously break boundaries across a variety of professional field such as politics, business, media, civil society, science and technology, academia and more.
Established in 2012, the Chevening Alumni Association of Rwanda is part of 50,000 alumni members located in different parts of the world.
Its objectives are to:
- Create a platform where alumni members can exchange ideas, strengthen ties and look for business opportunities.
- Maintain and enhance the prestige and tradition of the Chevening Scholarship program.
- Maintain and advocate for strong UK-Rwanda ties through socio-economic, cultural and political platforms.
- Establish relationships with other Chevening alumni associations in the region and beyond.
- Serve as a liaison between the alumni and the Rwandan community including public, private and civil society stakeholders.
- Create opportunities for wider social influence through advocacy, research and debates on issues of public interest.
The Chevening Alumni Association of Rwanda is comprised of Founder Members, Ordinary Members and Honorary Members.
